Staff Accountant

Perform general cost accounting and maintain the general ledger, including journal entries Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements Assist with the month-end close process, including account analysis and reconciliations Conduct periodic budget-to-actual comparisons and investigate basic variances Support the implementation of a new GL system by setting up modules, testing functionality and developing training materials for users Provide support on quarterly and annual tax filings including preparations of 1099s Position: Staff Accountant Benefits Medical dental vision 401k Pay $35-40/ hour Job Responsibilities & Activities General Accounting & Financial Reporting Perform general cost accounting and maintain the general ledger, including journal entries Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements Assist with the month-end close process, including account analysis and reconciliations Conduct periodic budget-to-actual comparisons and investigate basic variances Support the implementation of a new GL system by setting up modules, testing functionality and developing training materials for users Provide support on quarterly and annual tax filings including preparations of 1099s Accounting Operations (AP, AR & Cash Management) Code and process accounts payable invoices, ensuring expenses are charged to the appropriate accounts Manage accounts receivable activities, including invoicing and collections follow-up Reconcile bank accounts, cash disbursements, and other routine financial accounts Maintain corporate checking accounts and related financial documentation Conduct audits to ensure expenses are being properly entered and tracked Payroll Accounting & Audit Support Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates, including new hires, terminations, and pay rate changes Prepare and maintain payroll records, reports, and reconciliations Support internal and external audits by preparing requested documentation and maintaining organized financial records Required Skills/Abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organization skills and attention to detail. Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting. Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles. Proficient with Excel Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, or equivalent hands‑on experience supporting accounting or back‑office operations for an RIA or Broker‑Dealer Addison Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
