1st Shift Shipping & Receiving Specialist

Hours: 7:30AM 4pm Monday Through Friday. General Nature Of Job: Performs a broad range of duties related to the coordination, shipping, and receipt of domestic and international shipments. This will include coordination with packages, common and private carriers, shipping via various modes. Completes required documentation, accurately and timely. Effective communication is required with all departments throughout **. Essential Functions: 1. Responsible for the preparation and processing of all required documents and transactions necessary to ship and receive materials to and from domestic and international locations. This may include preparation of manifests, packing lists, letters of credit, declarations, import licenses, certification of origins or like documentation. Transactions may be required on ERP, carrier based and/or manual systems. 2. Coordinates shipments and/or deliveries with carriers and/or forwarding agents. Distributes required documentation to forwarding agent, customer, and other necessary recipients. 3. Responsible for investigation of issues related to shipments and receipts. This will include immediate resolution of incoming material issues, storage, retrieval, and analysis of historic shipping and receiving transactions and documentation. 4. Corresponds with Finance team regarding credit hold customers, following established hold procedures. 5. Work closely with Customer Service and Project Managers personnel to expedite items to meet customer deliveries. 6. Adhere to returned goods procedures, communicating the receipt of materials, processing upon approval. 7. Generate and/or maintain various shipping and receiving reports, as required. 8. Expedites and follows orders of a critical nature. 9. Responsible for data and inventory integrity within the shipping department. Other Responsibilities: 1. Assists other office personnel as workload requires and substitutes for them during absences. 2. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor. Required Job Skills: Detail-oriented, keeps accurate inventory and documentation. Display good teamwork, flexibility, and initiative. Interface with different departments, vendors, and customers in a professional manner. Time management skills. Ability to analyze and review shipping/receiving documents. Able to work long hours and/or weekends sometimes based on operational needs. Must Have: High School Diploma Software Knowledge: SAP experience Shipping: 2 years (Required) Excel: 2 years (Required Customer Service: 2 years (Required) Shipping International and Domestic Shipment experience Working Conditions: Work will be completed in office and/or shipping and receiving production areas. There will be potential exposure to seasonal temperatures. Sitting, standing, and lifting small packages. Experience: Warehouse Shipping and Receiving Clerk or Specialist. Logistics experience is a PLUS.
