Billingual HR & Payroll Coordinator (With Construction Experience)

FG Construction is seeking a highly organized and dependable HR & Payroll Coordinator to join our Human Resources team. This is a hands-on role responsible for supporting weekly payroll processing and a variety of day-to-day HR functions, including employee onboarding, personnel records, compliance, benefits administration, employee support, and HR data entry. The ideal candidate is bilingual in English and Spanish and has previous HR and payroll experience in construction, manufacturing, industrial, or another labor-intensive environment . This position regularly interacts with both office employees and field personnel, so we are looking for someone who is comfortable working with employees at all levels of the organization. Key Responsibilities Assist with the preparation and processing of weekly payroll. Review employee timecards for accuracy and follow up on missing or incorrect information. Process employee changes, including new hires, terminations, pay changes, deductions, and other payroll updates. Support new-hire onboarding, including completion and review of employment documentation. Maintain accurate and organized electronic employee personnel records. Assist with benefits enrollment, employee changes, and benefits-related questions. Support HR compliance requirements and maintain required employee documentation. Assist with employment verifications and other employee record requests. Enter and maintain employee information within HRIS and payroll systems. Respond to routine employee questions regarding payroll, benefits, policies, and HR processes. Assist with workers' compensation, leave, training, and other HR administrative processes as needed. Support employee communications and HR initiatives. Assist the HR Manager with additional HR projects and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience working in Human Resources and payroll is required. Bilingual English/Spanish is required. Experience supporting employees in construction, manufacturing, industrial, logistics, or another frontline/labor environment is strongly preferred. Experience processing or assisting with payroll for an hourly workforce. Strong attention to detail and ability to work with confidential employee information. Strong organizational and follow-up skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Comfortable interacting with both field and office employees. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel. Experience with ADP Workforce Now is a plus. Experience with Sage HCM/Criterion HCM is a plus. Experience with HRIS, timekeeping, or payroll systems is preferred.
