Acute Care RN - Emergency Department

Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care in a dynamic emergency department setting within a regional healthcare facility in the Midwest. This role emphasizes best practices, customer service, and adherence to professional nursing standards guided by the ANA Code of Ethics and relevant nursing regulations.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Effectively manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term patient care needs.
• Apply specialized clinical knowledge to deliver high-quality nursing care, making patient assignments based on acuity and technical requirements.
• Engage in continuous learning and apply evidence-based practices to enhance workplace performance.
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, fostering respectful and collaborative relationships with patients, families, healthcare providers, and colleagues.
• Maintain a therapeutic and safe environment by adhering to safety protocols, noise reduction, and supporting healthcare students.
• Participate actively in patient safety initiatives, reporting near misses, and promoting a culture of safety and compliance with HIPAA and national standards.
• Commit to professional growth through certifications, advanced education, and leadership opportunities.
• Promote teamwork by motivating and mentoring peers, encouraging cooperation, and fostering trust within the care team.

Education and Experience:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or equivalent experience with at least five years in acute care if from a non-accredited program.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required within five years of hire; enrollment in an accelerated MSN program is acceptable.
• Completion and maintenance of area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, and PALS.

Licensure and Certifications:

• Current active Registered Nurse license as required by the state nursing board.

This position offers a 2nd shift schedule with 36 hours per week in a supportive and growth-oriented environment serving the Midwest region.
