Director of Ecommerce & Growth — We Don't Need a Marketing Manager. We Need a Growth Weapon. You built offers that made people buy at full price. You launched products that sold out before ad spend even kicked in. You wrote PDP, constructed the bundle, set up the email sequence, briefed the creative, watched the numbers in real time, and then did it again better the next month. You didn't just manage people; you did this and taught someone else to do it too, because scaling requires building a team of high performers. You use AI to move at a speed that makes people wonder if there are ten of you. When you find someone with the same drive, you coach them to be as dangerous as you. Who We Are Fringe Sport is an Austin-based DTC garage gym equipment company. We’re building the best garage gym equipment company in the world. On a fast and profitable growth trajectory. Our products—belt squats, squat racks, bumper plates, and specialty equipment—are beloved by serious garage gymmers who want the smartest buy, not the cheapest. Growth engine is product. Design equipment that makes people’s jaws drop, build offers that make the purchase a no‑brainer, and tell the story so well that the right customer feels like an idiot for not buying from us. Paid ads are fuel; discounts are a tool. The strategy is awesome products turning into demand. We are not Meta‑dependent; we are building a 50‑year company by being the most trusted, most customer‑focused, most product‑obsessed team in the garage gym space. What You’ll Own Everything ecommerce: the P&L, launches, offers, calendar, agencies, numbers. Report directly to our CEO/Founder. Direct a retention agency (email/SMS), a paid ads agency, a full‑time videographer, a part‑time designer, and a marketing coordinator you’ll help hire. Small team, because one exceptional operator armed with AI outperforms a department of ten without it. In Your First Year, You Will Own the Ecom P&L: $18.3M web + $500K Amazon revenue at 32%+ contribution margin Execute 4‑6 major product launches with full go‑to‑market excellence — positioning, offer, PDP, email/SMS, paid creative, post‑launch analysis Reduce discount dependency from ~70% of orders to under 40% by building offers that command full price Build the marketing machine: SOPs documented, reporting cadence locked in, AI deployed across workflows, team hired and performing Demonstrate predictable, profitable growth month over month and year over year Who You Are You are an operator, not a strategist who delegates. You have personally driven revenue growth at a DTC brand—built the offer, wrote the brief, watched ROAS, fixed the PDP, called the audible on launch day. You use AI like oxygen, as infrastructure, not novelty: write, analyze, create, test, and move faster than most can. You train. You have a garage gym or want one. You understand our products because you use gear like ours. When you see a new belt squat attachment, the first thought is training application, not SKU count. You read $100M Offers and it changed how you think about marketing. You understand that a great offer is designed, not discounted, and know the difference between creating demand and renting attention. You are competitive. You want a scoreboard, to know the number, beat it, and set a higher number. What This Role Is NOT This is not a “scale Meta spend” role. We don’t want ad budget increase only solutions. This is not a “build a big team” role. You will have a coordinator and agencies—no 15 direct reports. This is not a strategy‑deck job. No 60‑slide marketing plan; need someone who ships campaigns, builds offers, launches, and reads dashboards every week. This is not a remote role. Hybrid in Austin, TX. Products are physical and heavy; you need to touch them, use them, and be onsite multiple days per week.
