Tasting Room Host - Part-Time

Job Description:

Matthiasson Wines is seeking a Tasting Room Host who is passionate about gracious hospitality, sales, and wine education while working in a team environment.

SCOPE OF DUTIES: Assist Tasting Room Manager in conducting all winery hospitality and DTC sales functions.

Hospitality

o Host tastings both in person and virtually
o Create and maintain an environment of warm hospitality
o Represent the Matthiasson brand with integrity
o Stay up-do-date on all winery and vineyard practices as well as technical information of all wines
o Maintain high standards of cleanliness in both outdoor and indoor TR areas
o Restock wine and packaging materials, as necessary
o Perform all daily set-up and break-down responsibilities
o Support other TR team members as needed during transitions through daily tastings
o Develop basic understanding of reservation system (Tock) and POS system (Commerce7)
o Answer winery phone and emails

Sales

o Enter orders into POS system accurately per TR and fulfillment house standards
o Remain up to date and knowledgeable about current offerings

Wine Club

o Work with the team to reach wine club enrollment goals
o Send hand written thank you notes for new club sign ups
o Assist with coordinating ongoing wine pick ups
o Help with all aspects of wine club events, including planning, setting up, breaking down, hosting during the events, etc. (we host a few large weekend events per year)

Other

o Help with miscellaneous projects, including cellar work, cleaning, administration, etc. as time allows
o Assist with picking up of wine from our warehouse and delivery to local restaurants/customers

Requirements

o Must be willing to work weekends
o Must be flexible: We are a small team, so the responsibilities of this position are somewhat fluid and can change as events around us change
o Transparency: Communicate openly and regularly with management
o Approach both customers and Matthiasson teammates with respect, humility, and kindness
o Must be at least 21 years of age
o Must have a valid drivers license and be insurable under the company auto insurance policy

Compensation: base hourly $ 24-$ 26/ hour plus gratuities and sales commission
