Access World is a global Freight Forwarding and commodities warehousing company. Active in 30 countries, we offer complete logistics, storage and supply chain solutions, tailor-made to our customer requirements for various commodities including metals and minerals, soft commodities, chemicals, renewables, oil & gas, project and general cargo. We are an approved warehouse keeper of the London Metal Exchange (LME) and Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), and we provide warehousing and associated services to traders, producers, financiers and consumers. Our worldwide offices and operations span across Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East and the Americas. Each region operates in semi-autonomous offices with own corporate functions including Commercial, Finance, HR, Compliance & Legal, Customer Service and Operations.

Purposes of the position:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to develop Los Angeles sector. This role will involve acquiring new business opportunities related to renewable products such as PV modules, batteries, transformers, and more. The candidate will be responsible for building strong client relationships and developing strategies to establish a reliable customer base for our ocean, air freight, warehousing, and transport services in the renewable sector.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Business Development:
- Identify and target new business opportunities in the C&F sector, focusing on ocean, air freight warehousing and transport services.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue and growth targets.
- Conduct market research to identify potential and industry trends.
- Build and manage a robust sales pipeline to ensure consistent business growth.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional customer service and support.
- Negotiate contracts and service agreements with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial terms.
- Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts, addressing concerns and fostering loyalty.
- Operational Coordination:
- Collaborate with operations teams to ensure seamless execution of services.
- Provide input on pricing strategies, operational improvements, and customer feedback.
- Work closely with the commercial and operations teams to align client requirements with service delivery.
- Reporting and Analysis:
- Monitor sales performance metrics and report progress to senior management.
- Prepare accurate and timely sales forecasts and market insights.
- Analyze competitors and market conditions to refine sales strategies.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to optimize processes, streamline operations, and reduce costs while maintaining high service levels.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in commercial freight forwarding.
- Participate in training programs and professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management within the logistics, Renewable industry.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
- In-depth knowledge of Renewable market.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Detail-oriented mindset with exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using productivity tools such as Microsoft Office suite.
