Travel RN Job Details

• Location: Peoria, Illinois
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130–$2,250
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: November 9, 2026
• End Date: February 8, 2027
• Schedule: Three 12-hour day shifts per week
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Call Requirement: None
• Charting: EPIC
• Patient Population: Adult acute-care medical-surgical patients

Medical-Surgical RN Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license in Illinois, or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• At least 1 year of recent medical-surgical nursing experience
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Experience with central lines, tracheostomies, and chest tubes
• Ability to care for patients with complex medical conditions, including sepsis, respiratory failure, renal or liver failure, electrolyte imbalance, uncontrolled diabetes, anemia, cellulitis, and behavioral health or addiction-related needs
• EPIC experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred; qualified candidates with Level I trauma experience may be considered without previous travel experience
• Commitment to maintaining a drug-free clinical practice environment

Travel Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients in a 56-bed unit with private and semi-private rooms
• Complete assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications, and evaluate patient responses
• Manage patients requiring central lines, tracheostomies, chest tubes, and respiratory support such as CPAP or BiPAP
• Monitor patients receiving therapies such as heparin and furosemide infusions according to clinical protocols
• Collaborate with providers, patient care technicians, respiratory therapy, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Interpret available telemetry information and promptly report clinically significant changes
• Float as needed to other acute-care medical-surgical areas, including nephrology, neurology, orthopedics, and oncology
• Support safe transitions of care through accurate documentation, patient education, and discharge planning
• Participate in every-other-weekend coverage and required unit orientation
