SCADA Technical Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced SCADA Technical Project Manager to support utility-scale Battery Energy Storage (BESS), Solar PV, and hybrid renewable energy projects.

\n

\n

This position combines hands-on SCADA and controls expertise with technical project leadership, supporting projects from engineering and integration through testing, startup, and commissioning.

\n

Please note: This role requires up to 50% travel to project sites. Candidates must be comfortable with significant travel based on project execution and commissioning schedules.

\n

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Lead delivery of SCADA, PLC, RTU, HMI, networking, and plant control systems.
\n
• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, risks, contractors, EPCs, OEMs, consultants, and vendors.
\n
• Develop, review, and optimize PLC programs using Schneider M340/M580 and similar platforms.
\n
• Oversee SCADA integration utilizing Ignition, OPC, historians, RTACs, and industrial communication networks.
\n
• Lead and support FAT, SAT, commissioning, startup, interconnection, and performance testing.
\n
• Review electrical, controls, communications, and networking drawings and specifications.
\n
• Provide technical leadership for SCADA architecture and plant control strategies.
\n
• Troubleshoot PLCs, RTUs, protection relays, inverters, meters, managed switches, networking equipment, and fiber systems.
\n
• Establish coding, documentation, configuration management, cybersecurity, and version-control standards.
\n
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and communicate project status, milestones, risks, and corrective actions.

Qualifications

\n

\n
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automation, or related discipline.
\n
• 8+ years of experience with SCADA/control systems, including project execution and commissioning.
\n
• Strong experience with Ignition SCADA and PLC programming.
\n
• Expertise with OPC, Modbus, DNP3, EtherNet/IP, CAN, RTUs, historians, and industrial networking.
\n
• Experience with BESS, Solar PV, hybrid plants, utility interconnections, or renewable generation.
\n
• Knowledge of networking, cybersecurity, firewalls, and industrial managed switches.
\n
• Strong technical troubleshooting, project management, communication, and leadership skills.
\n
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%.

Experience with renewable energy commissioning, Owner's Representative responsibilities, NERC CIP, utility standards, grid interconnection requirements, and managing multiple concurrent projects.
