Executive Chef - Eastern Mediterranean Cuisine

A well-established Eastern Mediterranean restaurant is seeking an experienced Executive Chef to join its team!

The Executive Chef leads and directs all culinary operations within a fast-paced, high-volume, open-kitchen setting. This position is responsible for managing the kitchen team to maintain consistency, quality, and smooth day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate all aspects of culinary production, from the kitchen to storage areas, ensuring a smooth and efficient food prep process
• Lead menu innovation and stay hands-on with daily food production
• Guide and work alongside the culinary team to maintain top standards for quality, efficiency, and food safety
• Motivate, train, and develop kitchen staff to consistently deliver excellent results
• Assist with scheduling, administrative tasks, and other operational needs as they come up
• Manage food ordering and maintain strict portion control standards
• Act as the main point of contact between kitchen and front-of-house teams on menu changes, specials, and inventory updates
• Step in wherever needed to keep the kitchen running smoothly

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional culinary experience, with at least 4 years in a leadership or supervisory role
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Background in Eastern Mediterranean cuisine (Lebanese, Turkish, Greek, Israeli, or similar regional traditions) strongly preferred
• Excellent knife skills and strong command of kitchen tools and techniques; familiarity with wood-fired grilling, charcoal cooking, or traditional Mediterranean methods is a plus
• Comfortable using computer systems and kitchen management software
• Culinary degree or comparable formal training preferred

Requirements

• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and remain physically active throughout 8+ hour shifts
• Hands-on experience with commercial kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, grills, and other specialized tools
