Executive Sous Chef

For more than a century, Dante has been a destination for exceptional hospitality. As we open our newest restaurant in the heart of Nolita, we're seeking an Executive Sous Chef to help lead our culinary team and shape the next chapter of one of New York City's most celebrated restaurants.
This is an opportunity to join a leadership team committed to excellence, mentorship, and thoughtful execution. Working closely with the Executive Chef and culinary leadership, the Executive Sous Chef will play a critical role in maintaining the highest standards of food quality, operational excellence, and team development.
What You'll Do- Lead daily kitchen operations with professionalism, organization, and integrity.
- Support and inspire a high-performing culinary team through coaching, mentorship, and accountability.
- Ensure consistency and excellence across all services by upholding Dante's culinary standards.
- Oversee production, execution, sanitation, food safety, and quality control.
- Manage scheduling, labor, ordering, inventory, and cost controls in partnership with the Executive Chef.
- Foster a culture of respect, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Assist with menu development, recipe implementation, and seasonal rollouts.
- Maintain a calm, solutions-oriented presence in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- 5+ years of progressive culinary leadership experience in acclaimed, high-volume restaurants.
- Previous experience as an Executive Sous Chef or Senior Sous Chef.
- A strong foundation in Italian and Mediterranean cuisine is preferred.
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
- A hands-on leader who leads by example and thrives on developing others.
- A deep commitment to hospitality, craftsmanship, and operational excellence.
- NYC Food Protection Certificate (or the ability to obtain one).
