Program Representative, Admissions & Placement ESE (Repost) Employer Duval County Public Schools Location Jacksonville, FL Closing date Jul 22, 2026 Job Summary Serves as liaison between the exceptional student education department and schools, providing direct services for students with disabilities. Offers support services and technical assistance to ensure appropriate placement and special education services. Provides input on specific exceptional student categories for proper identification and assessments. Assists in developing training modules, program planning, implementation of curriculum, and progress monitoring to measure student progress. Essential Functions Provides assistance with the computerized IEP/EP program and IEP/EP development and compliance. Communicates with school personnel and administrators regarding appropriate instructional strategies and student performance data. Visits schools to observe teaching/learning and provides support and technical assistance. Assists in development/revision of district procedures for exceptional student programs, program curriculum, and needs assessments. Develops and implements in‑service training for teachers, therapists, and other staff. Provides information and recommendations regarding instructional materials, equipment, and curriculum. Assists with staffing students eligible for services (Gifted Plan B) and offers guidance to parents and staff for arranging gifted services. Analyzes subgroup data to monitor problematic areas, recommends strategies to address these, and maintains program records, data, and reports. Assists in design, development, implementation, and evaluation of facilities, programs, and services delivery. Serves as liaison with parent organizations and committee agencies. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education : Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Master’s degree preferred. Experience : Three (3) years of experience in exceptional student education. Experience in gifted exceptional education preferred. Certifications & Licenses : Florida Department of Education certification in Exceptional Student Education. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Working knowledge of exceptional student education. Knowledge of federal, state, and district legislation, policies specifically related to exceptional student education operations. Knowledge of current trends and best practices in exceptional student education. Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software skills. Strong time management skills. Strong creative problem‑solving skills. Ability to develop and revise district procedures for exceptional student programs. Ability to develop and implement in‑service training for teachers, therapists, and other staff. Ability to manage multiple tasks. Ability to facilitate meetings effectively. Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, principals, and parents.
