LOCATION: Garden City, NY

Summary for Legal Billing Coordinator

We’re seeking a Legal Billing Coordinator to join the accounting and finance team at a national law firm. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment and enjoys partnering with attorneys and internal teams to ensure accurate and timely billing. You’ll play a key role in managing the billing lifecycle, supporting revenue operations, and contributing to the firm's exceptional client service.

 

Responsibilities for Legal Billing Cooridnator:

• Prepare, review, edit, and finalize a high volume of client invoices using the firm’s billing system.
• Manage the full billing cycle for assigned attorneys and practice groups, ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing.
• Review and revise prebills based on attorney feedback and client billing requirements.
• Ensure invoices comply with client billing guidelines and electronic billing requirements.
• Submit invoices through e-billing platforms and resolve billing rejections or discrepancies.
• Process billing adjustments, write-offs, transfers, and cost corrections as needed.
• Collaborate with attorneys, accounting, and accounts receivable teams to resolve billing inquiries and support collections efforts.

 

Qualifications for Legal Billing Coordinator:

• 2+ years of billing experience in a professional services, accounting, or corporate environment; law firm experience is a plus but not required.
• Experience with Elite 3E or a comparable billing/accounting system is preferred.
• Familiarity with electronic billing platforms and client billing guidelines is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong attention to detail with exceptional organizational and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
