Human Resources Intern

The Human Resources Intern will perform administrative functions to support our HR team. We are seeking a motivated bilingual (English and Spanish) college student with the ability to work 20-30 hours per week. Hours are flexible. We prefer a student going in their sophomore or junior year and majoring in Business or Human Resources, who has had some courses in Human Resources. The HR Intern will assist the HR team and learn about the inner workings of an HR department and the various areas within HR. This is a great opportunity for someone who is considering a career in Human Resources and would like to gain experience in this field. This is a paid internship. The Intern will need to start working in mid-August. Essential Job Functions: Assist the HR team in various duties involving employee information/data and must maintain confidentiality of all information. Handles temporary employee orientations, assigns temp lockers, and reconciles temp agency invoices Covers the reception area as needed. Assists in Time & Attendance software verifications for payroll processing utilizing ADP system on a weekly basis. Assists in reconciling Insurance carrier bills for employee benefits. Provides office services support for HR staff by inputting data, gathering information on HR related projects, and other tasks as assigned. Assembles New Hire orientation documents and information for company meetings. Translate documents and information to be disseminated or posted in the company in Spanish. Conducts temporary employee orientations/on boarding of Temporary employees Screens employee referrals for open temp employee positions and refers suitable candidates to the employment agencies. Assists employees with general HR questions, as needed. Aids with daily HR operations, projects, and special tasks, and other duties as assigned. Education: Must currently be enrolled in college, as a sophomore or junior (Business or HR major preferred) Attendance of some courses in Human Resources will be a plus. Job Qualifications: Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) – Must be able to speak, read, and write Spanish fluently. Strong communication skills, writing skills, and organizational skills. Dead-line oriented with attention to detail is a must. Microsoft Office experience/knowledge (Word, Excel, and Power Point) necessary. Ability to multi-task and change gears as needed based on priorities. Professional demeanor and ability to maintain confidentiality of all information is a must.
