Behavioral Health Billing Specialist

Pay Range: $25-$27 per hour
Schedule: Weekdays (This is not a hybrid position)
Location: Minneapolis (Seward neighborhood)

The Behavioral Health Billing Specialist is a member of the finance team at Touchstone Mental Health and is responsible for submitting and resolving issues with insurance claims.

Behavioral Health Billing Specialist Responsibilities:

• Resolve issues when claims are rejected on a daily basis
• Maintain the Red X report and follow up with items on a daily basis
• Contact insurance companies, municipalities, and state agencies via phone and email to resolve authorization and payment issues on a daily basis
• Provide updates to program and agency leadership teams on a daily and monthly basis
• Request infromation from program staff and assist them with resolving issues that are listed on the batch error reports on an ongoing basis
• Maintain client records in the electronic health record system on an ongoing basis
• Assist with the credentialing process of licensed staff members on an as needed basis

Behavioral Health Billing Specialist Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience performing medical billing and/or payment posting required.
• Experience wih an electronic health record required.
• Experience with behavioral health billing strongly preferred.
• Experience with Availity clearinghouse and MN MN-ITS portal strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of provider credentialing, NPIs, and taxonomies preferred.
