Billing SpecialistThe Billing Specialist is a vital part of the overall process of the accounting team. The ideal candidate will possess accounting knowledge and will have very strong customer service skills along with excellent computer skills, inquisitive, detail oriented, collaborative, a problem solver with critical thinking skills and be a positive teammate. Responsibilities include:Set up new customer accounts in the accounting and CRM systemsCreate and update recurring billing contracts in the accounting systemAd Hoc Billing and Contractual Billing to customersSet up and maintain billing orders and update CRM/Data tracking system in conjunction with accounting systemComplete data entry tasks for various accounting processes as requiredHandle a variety of general accounting responsibilities including timely invoicing of fees per contract terms and reporting revenue per GAAP/company policiesProvide professional interaction and responses to all levels of customers and employeesAssist Billing Analysts and Sr Billing Analysts with the monthly close processFollow up with customers and vendors as needed via e-mail and phoneAssist with providing supporting documentation for the annual financial statement auditContribute ideas for improving the efficiency of accounting processesBe flexible and willing to allocate additional time during peak times (month end, audits etc.)Skills and qualifications needed for the Billing Specialist position:Associates or Bachelor's degree in accounting, or related experienceNetSuite, Salesforce and Excel experience preferred2+ years of accounting experience showing progression of accounting responsibilitiesCritical and 'outside the box' thinking skillsAttention to detail is a must along with excellent organizational skillsComfortable asking questions; including the desire to understand and ask "why?"Excellent customer service skills – both written and verbalSelf-starter who is willing to accept responsibility and ownership for their function on the teamMust have excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills with the proven ability to resolve challenging issues in a timely mannerMust have a great attitude and be willing to learn, increasingly strive to improveMust be a quick learner, self-directed, motivated, and have strong dedication and commitment level to the tasks at handAbility to prioritize multiple tasks and workload effectively and utilize excellent time management skillsEquivalent combination of education and experience will be consideredMUST HAVE:Associates or Bachelor's degree in accounting, or related experienceExperience in NetSuite, Salesforce and Excel.Accounting and contract billing experience is a must.2+ years of accounting experience showing progression of accounting responsibilitiesEquivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
