Accountant

Our Client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented professional to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience in real estate accounting and a strong understanding of financial reporting and month-end close processes. This role involves preparing, reviewing, and analyzing financial statements, as well as participating in the acquisition and assessment of new properties and investments.

Job Function:

• Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements provided by third-party managers and journalize into our Client's company files.
• Prepare, review, and prepare analysis, assessment, and acquisition of new properties/real estate investments.
• Prepare transactional deal workbooks for transactions that have closed during the quarter, including researching US GAAP guidance for various transactions such as acquisitions, financings, and lease amendments.
• Ensure all U.S. GAAP adjustments are recorded on a monthly basis.
• Prepare and review monthly close accounting workbooks for various entities, including bank reconciliations, accruals, reconciliation of account balances to supporting schedules, and entering any required journal entries identified.
• Prepare/review annual budgets.
• Prepare/review fund level quarterly reporting requirements for the consolidated close process.
• Prepare/review management fees, promotes, HLBV, capitalized interest.
• Prepare/review supporting schedules for auditors and respond to audit inquiries.
• Assist with any new projects or process improvements.
• Work closely with C-Suite and Management to develop new processes as the company grows.

Requirements:

• 1-3 years of real estate accounting experience, either in-house or in public accounting.
• A thorough understanding of balance sheets, PnL, and financial reporting, in addition to month-end close.
• A desire to work in a hands-on, collaborative environment and a passion for learning and taking on new responsibilities.
