Position Specific Description Power Delivery IT is excited to bring AI-driven application development to shape the grid of the tomorrow! This role will focus on applications that are used to analyze and plan future expansions of the electric grid, including the emerging role of rooftop solar and battery storage. Your will be r esponsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications that support business applications used by FPL’s Distribution, Transmission and Substation Engineering teams. The role partners with product owners, business analysts, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Key Responsibilities Design and develop software solutions. Write, test, debug, and maintain application code. Perform unit and integration testing. Troubleshoot and resolve application issues. Participate in Agile ceremonies such as quarterly and sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives. Support CI/CD processes and software releases. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver business value. Technical Skills Web technologies: .NET, HTML, Angular, Node.js Databases: SQL Server, Oracle Tools: GitHub, Visual Studio, Artificial Intelligence (AI) Models AI-Driven development, API and microservices development Agile/Scrum delivery practices Core Competencies Problem solving and debugging Software design and development Performance optimization Team collaboration Clear communication with business and technical stakeholders Continuous learning and adoption of new technologies Education Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields. Job Duties & Responsibilities Analyzes, designs, develops, tests, debugs, implements, maintains, integrates, customizes, and enhances existing or new systems Applies appropriate Agile or development methodologies, system development lifecycles, tools, and technology Automates the handoff of code releases from development to operations (DevOps) Participates in the change management and service ticket management processes including receiving, resolution monitoring, and ensuring customer satisfaction Leads projects when needed and builds strong working understanding of the solution being delivered Ensures user satisfaction by providing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and timely resolution of more complex problems Designs, develops, and tests experimental application work to test new ideas with bounded cost and time frames Ensures that applications processes are conducted in line with corporate social responsibility, security, compliance, environmental, and technical policies and applicable standards and legislation Acts as liaison with regulatory agencies, vendors, and contractors on matters relating to computer systems as required Defines metrics and monitors Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for systems being developed Performs other job-related duties as assigned Required Qualifications Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience Experience: 2+ years Preferred Qualifications Employee Group: Exempt Employee Type: Full Time Job Category: Information Technology Organization: Florida Power & Light Company Relocation Provided: Yes, if applicable NextEra Energy is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
