Desktop Support Technician

Our client is seeking a customer-focused Field Support Analyst to provide onsite technology support in a corporate office environment. This role combines audiovisual meeting and training support, deskside troubleshooting, end-user assistance, and hardware deployment responsibilities.

The ideal candidate is personable, proactive, technically capable, and comfortable working directly with business professionals in a fast-paced environment. Strong customer service and communication skills are critical, as this individual will play a highly visible role supporting training sessions, meetings, and daily technology operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Audiovisual & Training Support

• Set up, test, operate, and troubleshoot AV technology for corporate meetings, training sessions, and events.
• Support displays, projectors, microphones, sound systems, conference room equipment, and video conferencing platforms.
• Provide real-time assistance to presenters, trainers, and attendees to ensure meetings and training sessions run smoothly.
• Perform proactive equipment checks and resolve issues prior to meetings and events.
• Coordinate with internal technical teams to address and resolve complex AV issues.

Desktop & Technical Support

• Provide onsite Level 1 and Level 2 technical support for end users.
• Troubleshoot Windows 11, Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, hardware, peripherals, and software applications.
• Assist with user account, access, and device management involving Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), and Microsoft Intune.
• Support device imaging, configuration, deployment, and workstation setup.
• Respond to technical incidents and service requests through the organization's ticketing system.
• Diagnose issues, provide timely resolutions, and escalate when appropriate.

Hardware Distribution & IT Operations

• Assist with the preparation, tracking, and distribution of IT hardware to users and office locations.
• Support equipment provisioning, device replacements, and hardware lifecycle management.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation, troubleshooting procedures, and support records.
• Collaborate with IT support teams to ensure operational continuity and effective service delivery.

Customer Service & Collaboration

• Deliver exceptional in-person customer service to employees, business stakeholders, and executive users as needed.
• Communicate technical information clearly to individuals with varying levels of technical expertise.
• Take ownership of technical issues and follow through to resolution.
• Anticipate user needs, identify potential issues, and provide proactive support.
• Adhere to established IT processes, service standards, and operational procedures.
• Demonstrate professionalism, adaptability, teamwork, and a customer-first mindset.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Required:

• 1 to 3 years of professional IT support, desktop support, help desk, or comparable technical experience.
• Approximately 5+ years of customer service or customer-facing experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent with relevant technical experience.
• Working knowledge of Windows 11 and Microsoft 365.
• Ability to troubleshoot common hardware, software, and peripheral issues.
• Ability to learn and support corporate AV and conferencing technologies.
• Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and prioritization abilities.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with an onsite support team.
• Comfortable providing hands-on, face-to-face technical support.

Preferred:

• Experience supporting AV technology in conference rooms, training environments, or corporate office settings.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), and Active Directory.
• Experience with computer imaging, device deployment, and IT asset management.
• Experience providing executive or VIP support.
• Familiarity with enterprise IT ticketing systems and remote management tools.
• CompTIA A+, Microsoft, or other relevant IT certifications.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milwaukee, WI.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
