You will be working for our client, a contract electronics manufacturer that is certified across industrial, medical, aerospace & defense, commercial, and nuclear sectors focused on high-mix, low-to-medium-volume production. They operate a 43,000+ sq ft facility with roughly 130 employees, three SMT lines, and full box-build and test capability.

In Your Day-To-Day, You Will

• Receive and log incoming RFQs, confirming the completeness of the data package (BOM, Gerbers, drawings, assembly notes, test requirements, IPC class, EAU and volume breaks)
• Scrub and normalize customer BOMs, validating manufacturer part numbers, packaging, and reference designator counts
• Source pricing and lead times through franchised distribution and approved suppliers, evaluating price breaks against EAU and MOQ
• Identify EOL, NCNR, long-lead, single-source, and allocated parts, proposing alternates for customer approval
• Build labor and process cost models covering SMT placement, setup/changeover, through-hole and selective solder operations, wash, conformal coating, box build, and test
• Quote NRE separately and completely, including stencils, fixtures, programming, first-article, test development, and qualification builds
• Produce customer-facing quotations with clear pricing tiers, lead times, validity periods, and stated assumptions and exclusions
• Meet committed quote turnaround targets and maintain an accurate RFQ pipeline
• Track win/loss outcomes and feed pricing intelligence back into future quoting
• Support handoff of won business to program management and purchasing
• Maintain quoting templates, standard labor rates, and cost libraries

Skills You Have

• 3–5 years of quoting, estimating, or cost engineering experience in an EMS/contract electronics manufacturing environment
• Working knowledge of PCB fabrication and PCBA assembly processes: SMT, through-hole, selective solder, wash, conformal coating, and functional test
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret BOMs, assembly drawings, Gerber files, and customer specifications
• Familiarity with electronic component distribution channels and component lifecycle risk
• Advanced Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables, structured cost models)
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems (Cetec, Aegis, or similar) and quoting or BOM-management tools
• Strong written communication, since quotes and clarification requests go directly to customers
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent RFQs against deadlines without losing accuracy

Skills That Will Make You Stand Out

• Experience with CalcuQuote or similar quoting/supply chain software (highly desired, not mandatory)
• Experience quoting in a high-mix, low-to-medium-volume environment
• Exposure to regulated markets
• Working knowledge of IPC-A-610 Class 2 vs. Class 3 requirements and their cost impact
• Understanding of component-lifecycle tools such as Silicon Expert
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain, business, or a related technical field
