Start Date: November 2, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: 12-hour shifts with day/night rotation availability; shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on staffing needs; 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio

Highlights:

• Specialized 36-bed medical-surgical oncology unit serving adult and geriatric populations
• Diverse case mix including breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, and esophageal cancers, plus sickle cell crises management
• Epic EMR system with GE telemetry monitoring, Alaris pumps, and modern equipment
• Strong interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, respiratory services, physical therapy, rapid response teams, and social services
• 72-hour comprehensive orientation program with focus on infection prevention and patient safety protocols
• Oncology experience preferred but not required; robust training and support provided

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience (current and within the last 12 months)
• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of application)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Epic charting system experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Willingness to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed
• 2 professional references required (at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role)

Clinical Skills:

• Interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias
• Accessing and managing ports, PICC lines, and central lines
• IV insertion and maintenance
• Blood product administration and chemotherapy administration
• Arterial line management
• High-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) management
• Chest tube insertion/removal assistance
• Interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• BiPAP/CPAP and tracheostomy care
• PCA and insulin drip titration

Patient Care Focus:

• Continuous cardiac monitoring related to chemotherapy administration
• Soft tissue malignancy management including diagnostic services and symptom control
• Management of comorbidities and disease progression symptoms
• Strong emphasis on infection prevention protocols and fall prevention
