Government Contracting Specialist

Supporting the Iowa APEX Accelerator Program, the full-time Government Contracting Specialist will work remotely to assist Iowa businesses in navigating government contracting processes, providing coaching, technical assistance, and market opportunity identification. Key responsibilities Conduct client needs assessments and develop tailored action plans for businesses seeking government contracts Provide individualized coaching on government registrations, proposal development, and compliance with contracting requirements Facilitate connections between businesses and relevant programs, partners, and resources to enhance their readiness for government contracting Required qualifications Bachelor's degree with 5 years of related experience Experience working with the Department of War or knowledge of federal contracting processes Familiarity with federal registrations, socioeconomic certifications, and contractor cybersecurity requirements Experience supporting manufacturing businesses or knowledge of manufacturing operations and supply chains Demonstrated ability to manage projects and build collaborative relationships with stakeholders
