This is a great opportunity for someone who is organized, compassionate, detail-oriented, and comfortable having financial conversations with individuals and families during what may be a stressful time.
About Us
Renewal Falls Recovery Center, powered by Ascension Recovery Services, provides compassionate, high-quality substance use disorder treatment designed to help individuals build a strong foundation for long-term recovery.
Our team is committed to creating a safe, supportive, and patient-centered environment where individuals can focus on healing, growth, and recovery.
As a new treatment center, Renewal Falls offers the opportunity to help build processes, shape the patient experience, and be part of a mission-driven team from the beginning.
Why Join Us?

- Work closely with Admissions, Revenue Cycle, clinical, and operational leadership
- Join a collaborative, mission-driven organization
- Build experience in behavioral health admissions and healthcare financial coordination
- Help create a positive and transparent financial experience for patients and families
- Opportunity for growth within a rapidly expanding organization
What You'll Do
As the Financial Coordinator, you'll serve as a key financial resource within the Admissions Department.
Support the Admissions Process
- Assist with financial clearance for prospective patients before admission
- Review available insurance benefit and eligibility information
- Help ensure required financial information is complete prior to admission
- Communicate estimated deductibles, copayments, coinsurance, and other anticipated patient responsibility
- Explain financial expectations clearly and compassionately to patients and authorized family members
- Identify financial barriers that could impact an admission and help coordinate next steps
- Work closely with Admissions to help prevent unnecessary delays in treatment access
Coordinate Patient Financial Responsibility
- Discuss estimated patient financial responsibility prior to or during admission
- Collect deposits, copayments, deductibles, and other required payments
- Process and document payments accurately
- Assist with approved payment arrangements when applicable
- Maintain clear documentation of financial conversations, payments, and outstanding items
- Follow up on outstanding financial requirements
- Escalate complex financial questions or exceptions to the appropriate team
Partner With Revenue Cycle & Admissions
- Collaborate with Billing, Revenue Cycle, Utilization Review, and Admissions teams
- Help resolve missing or inconsistent insurance and financial information
- Ensure demographic, insurance, guarantor, and financial information is accurate
- Communicate changes that may affect billing or patient responsibility
- Track outstanding financial clearance items through resolution
- Help improve workflows between Admissions and Revenue Cycle as the facility grows
Support Patients & Families
- Serve as a friendly and knowledgeable point of contact for financial questions
- Explain healthcare financial information in easy-to-understand language
- Handle sensitive conversations with professionalism, empathy, and respect
- Help patients and families understand available payment options and financial processes
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient and financial information
- Provide timely follow-up and exceptional customer service
Who You Are
You are someone who can balance accuracy with empathy.
You understand that discussing healthcare costs can be difficult, especially when individuals and families are seeking substance use disorder treatment. You are comfortable explaining financial information clearly without making the process feel transactional or overwhelming.
You are organized, dependable, and detail-oriented. You follow through, communicate well across departments, and take ownership of making sure financial items are resolved.
Most importantly, you believe that financial conversations should support—not create unnecessary barriers to—accessing treatment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2+ years of experience in healthcare admissions, patient financial services, insurance verification, medical billing, revenue cycle, financial counseling, or a related field preferred
- Experience working with health insurance benefits or patient financial responsibility strongly preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Comfortable discussing financial information with patients and families
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and follow-through skills
- Ability to maintain confidential patient and financial information
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic business or healthcare systems
Behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, residential treatment, or healthcare experience is preferred.
Experience with commercial insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, billing systems, electronic health records, or admissions platforms is a plus.
