Work Environment

The position is based onsite at our hospital in Baytown, Texas, where you will be part of a collaborative environment comprising 5 experienced physicians and 5 nurse practitioners. Our state-of-the-art facility is designed to support your advanced practice, utilizing the latest medical technologies and practices. You will work a full-time schedule of 40 hours a week from Monday to Friday, with shifts concluding at 5:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations of patients and review their medical histories to gather relevant health information.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as blood work and imaging studies to support the identification of health conditions.
• Diagnose various acute and chronic health issues, developing tailored treatment plans to address patient needs.
• Prescribe medications and therapies while educating patients about their conditions and the importance of adherence to treatment regimens.
• Maintain meticulous patient records and schedules to ensure continuity of care and effective medical documentation.
• Engage patients and their families in discussions about health concerns, treatment options, and disease prevention strategies.
• Advocate for healthy lifestyle choices and preventive care within the patient population.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with medical best practices and advancements in primary care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily serve a diverse patient population in a primary care setting, addressing a wide range of health issues, preventive care needs, and chronic disease management. Your role will be pivotal in creating an inclusive and supportive healthcare experience for patients of varying ages and backgrounds, ensuring they receive personalized care tailored to their unique circumstances.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant studies.
• Valid Physician Assistant license and PA-C certification.
• A DEA number is required to prescribe medications.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Physician Assistant in clinical settings including hospitals or outpatient facilities.
• Proficiency in both acute and chronic care practices, with a focus on primary care.
• Familiarity with healthcare regulations, patient confidentiality, and treatment protocols.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with healthcare team members and patients.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to patient-centered care.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
