About the Position

Job Opportunity – Emergency Department Registered Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: October 5, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: 36-hour work week with every other or every third weekend required; 1:3.5 nurse-to-patient ratio; float pool participation required; orientation includes 36 hours of initial training

Highlights:

• Work in a high-acuity emergency department serving all age groups from pediatrics to geriatrics with a daily census of approximately 210 visits
• State-of-the-art 86-room, 115-bed emergency department equipped with EPIC documentation system and Pyxis medication management
• Preferred experience includes Level I Trauma Center, stroke-certified, and STEMI-certified facility backgrounds
• Comprehensive case mix including trauma, procedural sedation, ventilated patients, psych holds, and pediatric emergency care
• Strong interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, interpretation services, and unit secretary assistance
• First-time travelers accepted with full orientation and onboarding support

Requirements:

• Active Ohio RN license or compact license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI required
• Competencies must include triage, dysrhythmia interpretation, emergency medications, procedural sedation, ventilated patient management, trauma care, psych holds, and pediatric emergency care
• Skills required: arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, continuous IV sedation and paralytics, IV vasopressors, 12-lead EKG, phlebotomy, IV initiation and maintenance
• Nursing degree from ACEN or CCNE accredited program required
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccination not required
• Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager, director, or formal leadership role
• Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon contract signing
