Travel Surgical Tech/ORT - Certified Surgical Technologist/CST

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist with Trauma Level I experience for a 13-week acute care hospital assignment requiring a minimum of 3 years of experience.

Job Details

• Acute care hospital OR unit with 8 rooms and a daily census of 25,
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM,
• Weekend shifts required per the needs of the unit,
• On-call requirements apply,
• Floating required, including between sister facilities,
• Epic EMR experience required,
• Scrubs or business casual attire permitted,

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience required, 5 years preferred,
• BLS certification required,
• CST and NBSTSA certifications preferred,
• Trauma Level I experience required,
• Community hospital experience preferred,
• Prior travel assignment experience required,
• CA state license preferred, pending license accepted,
• License required if applicable,
• Compact license must be in hand at time of submission,
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years,
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration,

Additional Information

• Perform surgical technologist duties across a wide range of specialties including vascular, gynecology, orthopedic, general surgery, neuro surgery, urology, ENT, thoracic, and plastics procedures,
• Support robotic-assisted surgeries including Da Vinci Xi Surgical System cases,
• Maintain aseptic technique, sterilization/disinfection, and infection control standards,
• Participate in Universal Protocol (time out) procedures and emergency management protocols including fire safety,
• Assist with endoscopic procedures and use specialized equipment such as case carts, cell savers, and crash carts,
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role,
• Former Providence permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travelers and cannot be within 50 miles of the facility,
• Candidates must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility, including as a permanent employee, traveler, or per-diem staff,
• RTO requests limited to no more than 7 days and must be submitted upfront,
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day),
