Travel RN - Operating Room

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a night shift assignment requiring Trauma Level I, vascular, neuro, and orthopedic surgical experience.

Job Details

• Acute care hospital setting in the Operating Room department,
• 277 staffed beds,
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 18:45-7:15) with variable start times of 7:00 and 9:00,
• Weekend shifts required,
• May need to cover one additional night shift within the contract as needed,
• On-call required, distributed equally among nursing staff every 6 weeks (up to 6-8 shifts including nights, evenings, and weekends),
• Floating required between like units and sister facilities,
• Epic EMR used,
• OR, Endo, L&D, and PACU scrubs provided,
• Free parking available,

Job Requirements

• Active CA RN license required, compact license must be in hand at time of consideration,
• BLS certification required,
• Minimum 3 years of OR experience required, 5 years preferred,
• Trauma Level I experience required,
• Previous travel nursing experience required,
• Epic charting experience required,
• Experience in vascular, neuro, orthopedic/spine, general surgery, urology, GYN, ENT, plastics, bariatric, thoracic, and podiatry procedures,
• Experience with trauma cases including gunshot/stab wounds, MVAs, and amputations,
• Experience with robotic surgery systems (Da Vinci Xi) preferred,
• Experience with cell saver and Hana Table equipment preferred,
• Knowledge of infection control, laser safety, radiation safety, and universal protocol procedures,
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting,

Additional Information

• Perform circulating and scrub RN duties across a wide range of surgical specialties,
• Work within a Trauma Level I designated facility,
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day),
• RTO must be submitted upfront at time of consideration; post-offer RTO requests may not be accommodated,
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position,
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius, at a lower bill rate,
• Former Providence permanent employees must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility,
• Candidates must disclose any prior work history at Providence facilities as a permanent, travel, or per-diem employee,
• Facility does not accept candidates with Nursys or background check hits
