Program Assistant

We are seeking a Program Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of New Hope Program Services. This role works directly with New Hope Recovery Program clients and staff to help maintain client safety, supervision, confidentiality, and orderly program operations. The position includes responsibilities such as supervising client self-administration of medication in accordance with Texas Health and Human Services rules, securing confidential records, inspecting rooms for cleanliness and compliance, checking for unauthorized contraband, and conducting new client orientation. The Program Assistant also supports administrative functions, client activities, life skills instruction, and communication with staff and outside agencies. This position requires strong judgment, professionalism, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities while working in a ministry-based environment serving homeless men, women, and children.

Benefits

• Pay rate: $17 per hour.

• Full-time, non-exempt position with a consistent operational support role.

• Work schedule includes evenings and some weekends, based on business needs.

What You Will Do?

• Supervise client self-administration of medication, document medications, and ensure compliance with Texas Health and Human Services rules.

• Support client safety and privacy by enforcing program rules, conducting inspections, and reporting concerns promptly.

• Create new client files, file documents, monitor supplies, and maintain organized program spaces.

• Conduct new client orientation, assist with forms, schedule physical examinations within 96 hours of admission, and assign clients to counselors.

• Enter client progress in files and the CaseWorthy electronic file management system with accuracy.

• Teach life skills from the prescribed curriculum and support client recovery with other staff and agencies.

• Assist with client activities, including planning, purchasing, setup, monitoring, and cleanup.

• Transport clients and staff as instructed, while maintaining required documentation and boundaries.

Your Skills

• Associate’s degree with one year of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Valid Texas Driver’s License, acceptable driving record, current liability insurance, and ability to drive a 15-passenger van.

• Strong reading, writing, and time management skills for detailed administrative work.

• Good judgment when handling confidential client and donor matters and setting priorities.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and respond to issues requiring immediate attention.

• Ability to communicate and work cooperatively with employees, managers, directors, clients, volunteers, and outside organizations.

• Ability to work respectfully, professionally, and in a Christ-like manner while maintaining required client and staff boundaries.

• Comfort working with Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, and the CaseWorthy file management system.

Pay Details: $17.00 per hour
