Senior Scientist Peptide Discovery

Basecamp Research seeks a Senior Scientist to validate AI-generated peptide candidates through cell-based assays. The role supports discovery programs in antifungal, antimicrobial, and cardiometabolic therapeutics, performing functional assays and safety testing to guide the AI-driven pipeline.
Responsibilities
- Perform mammalian cell culture and maintain multiple cell line types for assays
- Design and execute cytotoxicity, hemolysis, and cell permeability assays in 96-well format
- Support GLP-1 receptor activation assays including cAMP accumulation measurements
- Generate dose-response curves and analyze potency and safety endpoints
- Prepare peptide stocks and support fungal susceptibility assays against multiple species
Requirements
- Experience with mammalian cell culture techniques and standard maintenance
- Proficiency in cell-based assays: cytotoxicity, viability, hemolysis, permeability
- Knowledge of receptor activation assays and dose-response curve analysis
- Familiarity with peptide handling, preparation, and stock management
- Experience establishing or maintaining stable cell lines and transfection methods
- Background in immunogenicity assessment or T-cell epitope prediction
- Experience with microbiology or fungal susceptibility testing
