Basecamp Research
Basecamp Research seeks a Scientist or Senior Scientist for peptide discovery in Boston to experimentally validate AI-designed peptide candidates. The role involves cell-based functional assays, safety testing, and developability studies across antifungal, antimicrobial, and cardiometabolic programs.
Responsibilities
- Perform mammalian cell culture and maintain various cell lines for assay work
- Design and execute cytotoxicity, hemolysis, and cell permeability assays in 96-well format
- Run GLP-1R activation assays and receptor-based functional studies on peptide candidates
- Generate dose-response curves and analyze potency and safety endpoints
- Prepare peptide stocks and support fungal susceptibility testing workflows
Requirements
- Proficiency in mammalian cell culture techniques and maintenance
- Experience with cell-based assays including cytotoxicity, hemolysis, and permeability testing
- Knowledge of receptor activation assays and dose-response analysis methods
- Familiarity with stable cell line development or transfection protocols
- Understanding of peptide handling, preparation, and quality assessment
- Experience with immunogenicity assessment or related immunology assays
