Virtual Desktop Operations Engineer

Salary: $75,000 - 135,000 per year Requirements:

• Experience with Citrix technologies, including Citrix Cloud, CVAD, and Gateway.
• Knowledge of Windows Server, Windows 11 Multi-Session, Active Directory, Group Policy (GPOs), DNS, certificates, and VDI profile management.
• Experience applying Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to improve platform reliability, availability, scalability, and performance.
• Experience with monitoring, alerting, and telemetry tools such as Citrix Director, Citrix Analytics, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Splunk, or Observe.
• Experience working in ITIL-aligned enterprise environments.
• Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Candidates may be assessed on relevant critical skills, including risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology, and role-specific technical skills.
• In-depth technical knowledge and experience in the assigned area, with a thorough understanding of its underlying principles and concepts.
• Ability to analyze factual information, make evaluative judgments, and solve problems using technical experience.
• Ability to communicate complex or sensitive information, influence decisions, and collaborate with stakeholders.

• Build, deliver, and maintain high-quality infrastructure solutions that meet business needs and support reliability, performance, availability, and ease of use.

• Monitor infrastructure and system performance, identify and resolve issues, vulnerabilities, or outages, and use data to reduce mean time to resolution.

• Implement secure configurations and safeguards to protect infrastructure, hardware, software, and data from cyberattacks, vulnerabilities, and unauthorized access.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and engineers to define infrastructure requirements, develop solutions, and ensure effective integration with business objectives.
• Stay informed about technology trends and contribute to our technology communities and culture of technical excellence.
• Perform assigned activities promptly and to a high standard, with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Where applicable, lead and support a team, guide professional development, allocate work, and coordinate resources; individual contributors are expected to develop technical expertise and advise where appropriate.
• Partner with other functions and business areas, take responsibility for operational outcomes, and build relationships with stakeholders within and outside the organization.
• Escalate policy or procedure breaches, embed new policies and procedures introduced for risk mitigation, and manage risk and strengthen controls in areas of responsibility.
• Deliver work in accordance with applicable rules, regulations, and codes of conduct, while building understanding of how the sub-function connects with the wider organization.
