CNC Lathe Machine Lead-Day Shift

In this role you will focus on determining work assignments and resolving issues for the team, train other machinists, provide leadership to inexperienced machinists, maintenance requests, safety incident reporting, manage production schedule and machine high-quality parts on a timely basis to meet customer demands and at times performing set-ups, modifying, and creating programs, and operating various types of CNC Machines.

Primary responsibilities include leading production in the CNC Lathe area, managing daily priorities, participating in daily production and GEMBA meetings, monitoring CNC Machinist productivity, planning and coordinating workflow with other departments, supporting company policies, interviewing and evaluating applicants, setting up and operating a variety of CNC equipment, leading process improvement efforts, ensuring employees are performing and documenting in-process QA inspections, and managing and maintaining a clean and organized department.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED equivalent, at least 5 years' relevant experience in a machining environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience, minimum of 2-year previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, contract manufacturing experience highly desirable, proven ability to work in a fast past work environment, knowledge and understanding of ERP system and Microsoft office suite, ability to read blueprints, use micrometers, calipers, and other QA gauges, ability to set up and operate machine tools, and ability to program machine tools.

Preferred qualifications include a machine tool technology degree, a minimum of 1 years' experience operating a CNC Lathe machine, strong mechanical aptitude, ability to read and understand blueprints, strong attention to detail, effective verbal and written communication skills.

Additional qualifications include competencies in quality, safety and security, language skills, mathematical skills, and reasoning ability.

Physical demands and work environment include continuous mental and visual attention, ability to stand for a shift, sit, talk and hear, lifting up to 40 pounds, exposure to manufacturing areas where temperature may vary and personal protective equipment is required.
