Consistently produces compelling, impactful content in a timely manner. Serves as an in-depth, beat-focused reporter and subject-matter expert who can analyze news developments, data and trends and speak and write about them with authority. Essential Functions 40% - Researches, gathers, writes, edits and delivers long form reporting 20% - Investigates breaking news developments 20% - Develops contact lists and sources and analyzes background information related to story development 10% - Publishes stories across multiple media platforms using audio equipment and multimedia gear 10% - Assists in fundraising efforts and events; performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in journalism, radio/television, broadcasting or directly related field and two (2) years of professional journalism/broadcasting experience such as researching, editing, interviewing and reporting news stories. OR An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered. Special Requirements: Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications: Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D Driver's License and/or FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License may be required for some assignments. Desired Qualifications Two (2) or more years in specialty beat reporting, preferably on water and climate issues Breaking news experience Investigative reporting experience Two (2) or more years writing long-form content for multiple platforms One (1) or more years of experience providing expert commentary on beat topics and/or hosting or moderating topical discussions in a public forum Deep portfolio (10+) of long form feature reporting with a demonstrated ability to consistently produce such content in a timely manner Excellent editing skills as demonstrated through a portfolio containing recent examples of news reporting in any media format submitted by close of business of the application deadline attached with your application One (1) year of full-time relevant MCCCD experience during the previous two (2) years Special Working Conditions Travel to campus during interview/selection process will be at candidate's own expense.
