• Experience: 1+ years acute care RN experience (First-time travelers need at least 2 years of perm staff RN experience)

What You'll Do:

• Provide high-quality nursing care to Med/Surg and Telemetry patients, including transplant, CHF, COPD, and other diagnoses
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, support chest tube management, and assist with wound care and IV initiation
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including RT, OT, PT, and speech therapists
• Support patient assessments, charting, and documentation using Meditech Expanse EMR system
• Float to other units within scope of practice and support the charge nurse on duty
• Conduct peripheral blood draws, support line placements, and handle patient care efficiently during assigned shifts
• Maintain safety and compliance standards, including ECG competency and cardiac strip reading

What You Need:

• Required: RN license, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
• Preferred: Experience in Med/Surg/Telemetry, proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Key Skills: IV initiation, wound care, patient assessment, team collaboration

This assignment is at a reputable hospital in Bossier City, providing care for adult patients in a Med/Surg/Telemetry setting. The unit handles a variety of diagnoses, including transplant patients, and operates with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5. The team supports staff with resources such as a dedicated RT, resource nurses, and on-call hospitalists. Orientation involves initial training at the Innovation Center, enabling a smooth transition into unit work.
