Seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll & Bookkeeping Specialist to join our team. This position will have a strong emphasis on payroll processing for 50 client.

This is an IN OFFICE IN ANCHORAGE, ALASKA.

Payroll experience is REQUIRED. The ideal candidate understands that payroll requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail and is comfortable reviewing their work before submission.

We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their work and understands that details matter in payroll and accounting. The right person will double-check their work, ask questions when something does not look right, follow established processes, and communicate promptly when additional information is needed.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced bookkeeper or payroll professional who enjoys working with a variety of small-business clients and wants to be part of a professional accounting team.

Primary Responsibilities
* Process client payroll accurately and on schedule
* Review employee hours, pay rates, deductions, reimbursements, and payroll changes
* Process payroll using Gusto, Rippling, QuickBooks Online Payroll, QuickBooks Desktop Payroll
* Maintain accurate payroll records and supporting documentation
* Reconcile payroll reports and assist with payroll journal entries
* Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies
* Assist with quarterly and year-end payroll reporting
* Perform general bookkeeping, including transaction entry, account reconciliations, and financial record maintenance
* Communicate professionally with clients regarding payroll and bookkeeping questions
* Manage multiple client accounts, priorities, and deadlines

Required Qualifications
* Previous payroll processing experience is required 6+ months
* Bookkeeping or accounting experience 6+ months
* Experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO)
* Experience with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Desktop Payroll
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
* Ability to work independently while following established procedures
* Strong organizational and time-management skills
* Ability to handle confidential payroll and financial information appropriately
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven accounting environment

Preferred Qualifications
* Certified payroll / prevailing wage experience is a plus
* Experience processing payroll for multiple companies or clients
* QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification
* Experience with payroll reconciliations and payroll tax reporting
* Familiarity with Alaska payroll requirements
