Job Type Full-time Description LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is currently seeking an individual to join our team as a Purchasing Manager in Gainesville, FL . This position is responsible for vendor selection, negotiation, establishmentand maintenance of all purchased materials, supplies, equipment and services used by the company. Who We Are LifeSouth is a non-profit community blood bank serving more than 150 hospitals in Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Tennessee. Our Benefits Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) plan Medical, dental, and vision insurances available to full-time employees the first of the month after 60 days Supplemental insurances including life, cancer, accident, and disability Access to mental wellness resources and counseling through telehealth Free basic life insurance for full-time employees Health Savings Account (HSA) with employer match each pay period Employer funded retirement plan for vested employees & 403b offered Access to wages prior to pay days Responsibilities Include (but not limited to) Negotiate with venders for goods and services Establish purchasing policies and ensure compliance Examine bids and make vendor recommendations Review product use and analyze purchase volumes Negotiate blanket purchase orders when appropriate and monitor costs Work closely with receiving department to ensure proper supplies arrived Resolve invoice discrepancies Trace delinquent arrivals from purchase orders Work with Quality Assurance to ensure the vendors for critical supplies are qualified Review vendor agreements and hold vendors accountable for agreement terms Must have consistent reliable transportation Attendance is a requirement of this position Some travel may be required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business or related field Minimum of five years of supply chain/purchasing experience Minimum of two years supervisory experience Ability to supervise staff and delegate tasks effectively Ability to prepare concise and informative reports Ability to analyze, think critically, and make decisions consistent with regulatory guidelines Ability to organize and manage time effectively Exceptional customer service skills Basic computer skills and experience with MS Office (work, excel, outlook and PowerPoint) Valid driver's license. Must also meet and maintain LifeSouth driver's eligibility requirements Experience in a not-for-profit setting preferred This is a full-time position. Salary is commensurate with experience.
