Position Overview

Our client is a growing freight brokerage specializing in flatbed and open-deck transportation across the United States.We are seeking an experienced Outside Sales Representative who can develop direct shipper relationships, generate new business, and build a profitable book of flatbed freight. This is an experienced producer role, not an entry-level position. The ideal candidate has direct flatbed or open-deck sales experience, established customer relationships or an actionable pipeline, and the ability to generate revenue quickly.

Responsibilities

\n
• Generate new business with shippers requiring flatbed, open-deck, step-deck, Conestoga, oversized, or specialized transportation
\n
• Prospect through cold calling, email, referrals, networking, and industry relationships
\n
• Build and manage profitable shipper accounts
\n
• Identify freight opportunities and customer transportation requirements
\n
• Develop pricing and negotiate profitable transportation solutions
\n
• Manage customer relationships from initial contact through account growth
\n
• Work closely with Operations and Carrier teams to ensure successful load execution
\n
• Expand existing accounts by identifying new lanes, facilities, freight types, and decision-makers
\n
• Maintain an active sales pipeline and accurate revenue and gross-profit forecasts
\n
• Keep customers informed about pricing, capacity, service performance, and market conditions
\n

Qualifications

\n
• Proven freight brokerage, transportation, or 3PL sales experience
\n
• Direct experience selling flatbed or open-deck transportation
\n
• Demonstrated success developing and managing profitable shipper accounts
\n
• Recent track record of producing meaningful weekly or monthly gross profit
\n
• Established customer relationships, active pipeline, or clear strategy for generating immediate business
\n
• Strong understanding of flatbed equipment, pricing, capacity, lanes, and seasonality
\n
• Strong cold-calling, prospecting, negotiation, and closing skills
\n
• Ability to independently manage the sales cycle
\n
• Strong communication and relationship-management skills
\n
• Comfortable working remotely with minimal supervision
\n
• Experience working closely with brokerage Operations and Carrier teams
\n

Experience selling transportation services to:

• Industrial shippers

Experience developing business across the East Coast or Southeastern United States is strongly preferred.
