Accountant I

The Accountant I position within the FL-DOE Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Financial Payments Section supports the mission of helping people with disabilities find and maintain employment by managing financial transactions and maintaining accurate accounting records. This role involves auditing invoices, preparing financial documents, and supporting data analysis in a professional office environment. Responsibilities:

• Audit and process invoices accurately and timely.
• Assemble documents and data for various job-related financial analyses.
• Prepare and input financial documents into the Client Service System.
• Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with organizational policies.
• Collaborate with team members to support the division's financial operations.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years professional business office experience.
• At least 1 year of basic accounting experience.
• Experience auditing and processing invoices for at least 1 year.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with a minimum of 1 year experience.
• Strong English speaking and comprehension skills.
• Demonstrated strong job tenure and reliability.

• Additional accounting or finance certifications or training.
• Experience working within government or vocational rehabilitation financial systems.
• Familiarity with client service or case management software.

• Work is performed in a professional business office environment.
• Business casual dress code required.
• Must be able to complete mandatory pre-employment screenings and comply with any safety or drug testing requirements if applicable.
• Position is contract/temporary without benefits such as PTO or paid holidays.

• Standard business hours in a professional office setting.
• In-person work required at the designated office location.
• Contract period from August 24, 2026, through June 30, 2027.
