Operations Associate

Position Purpose The Operations Associate role at Heritage ensures efficient and effective service delivery to customers through meticulous inventory management, supervision of warehouse operations, and coordination of timely deliveries while maintaining corporate standards of excellence. The associate enhances operational integrity, supports team leadership, and fosters enduring customer relationships. Key Responsibilities Spearhead comprehensive inventory control initiatives, including procurement, weekly cycle counts, pricing assessments, and management of damaged or outdated stock to optimize operational efficiency and reduce waste. Collaborate strategically with the Branch Manager to drive team energy, professionalism, and urgency, ensuring seamless workflow and achievement of branch objectives. Lead warehouse operations, directing the team in receiving, storing, and distributing products to maintain high service standards. Manage order processing and day‑end balancing to uphold financial integrity and facilitate smooth branch operations. Coordinate and supervise truck dispatches, guaranteeing timely and accurate product deliveries to job sites. Develop and maintain training programs for drivers and warehouse staff to promote continuous improvement and operational excellence. Leverage ERP systems and relevant software tools to streamline processes, enhance data accuracy, and support informed decision‑making. Cultivate and sustain strong customer relationships, demonstrating commitment to sales and service excellence that drives loyalty and business growth. Direct Reports The Operations Associate reports to the Branch Manager and supervises drivers and the warehouse operations team, guiding and training personnel for efficient product distribution and inventory control. Travel Requirements Occasional travel to regional branches and vendor locations is required to oversee operations and ensure compliance with company standards. Physical Requirements Periodically remaining in a stationary position, moving about the warehouse, communicating with team members and customers, using computers, lifting items up to 50 pounds, and traversing warehouse spaces safely. Minimum Qualifications At least two years of supervisory or assistant‑management experience in a warehouse setting, preferably in the pool/landscape industry. Demonstrated experience in purchasing, inventory control, weekly cycle counts, pricing, and management of damaged or outdated stock. Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with ERP systems; experience with Agility software is advantageous. Proven customer service and sales excellence with the ability to develop lasting customer relationships. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and reliable transportation. Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications Advanced knowledge of pool, aquatics, or landscape systems and related products. Track record of leading diverse teams in fast‑paced warehouse environments. Strong analytical skills for interpreting complex data sets to inform inventory optimization. Experience in vendor and stakeholder relationship management. Proficiency in Lean or Six Sigma methodologies for continuous improvement. Advanced ERP system expertise and adaptability to new technology solutions. Superior communication skills with clarity and professionalism. Project management experience coordinating across departments. Safety and compliance knowledge relevant to industry standards.
