Position Purpose

\n

The Territory Sales Manager at Farmina Pet Food is responsible for driving sales and promoting the company's pet food products within a designated geographical area, focusing on veterinarian hospitals, distribution, key opinion leaders, and universities. This role involves developing and maintaining strong relationships with current clients while identifying and acquiring new business opportunities to increase market share and achieve sales targets.

Requirements

\n

\n
• At least 2 years of Sales within the Pet Food Industry, preferably in the Veterinary Channel
\n
• Ability to travel at least 75% of the time
\n
• Must live within territory
\n
• College Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Management, Animal Science or equivalent work experience with demonstrated success.
\n
• Must be highly organized
\n
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, are essential for effectively promoting Farmina's products and building strong relationships with clients.
\n
• Territory Management: Strong organizational and time management skills are necessary to effectively manage and expand the assigned territory.
\n
• Passion for Pets: A genuine passion for pets and their well-being can contribute to understanding customers' needs and effectively advocating for Farmina's pet food products.
\n
• A Valid Drivers License with a good driving record

Key Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Promote and sell Farmina Pet Food products, with a specific emphasis on Vet Life prescription diets.
\n
• Implement innovative sales strategies and marketing concepts to achieve assigned sales goals and key performance indicators (KPIs).
\n
• Engage with existing and potential clients to create customized, brand-building sales and marketing programs that drive product volume and market penetration.
\n
• Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to identify growth opportunities.
\n
• Develop and execute strategic business plans within the assigned territory to expand the company's presence and market share.
\n
• Collaborate with regional teams, distributor channels, and counterparts nationwide to ensure consistent messaging and support for clients.
\n
• Travel within the defined territory with a consistent 6–8-week sales cycle, including overnight travel.
\n
• Provide top-tier customer service to veterinarian hospitals using a consultative selling approach.
\n
• Identify the specific business needs of veterinary clinics within the territory and offer tailored recommendations and solutions.
\n
• Cultivate strong business relationships with key decision-makers, veterinarians, and other stakeholders to gain active endorsements of Farmina Pet Food products.
\n
• Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of Farmina's pet food products, including their nutritional benefits and unique selling points.
\n
• Offer nutritional expertise to veterinarians and their staff through clinic calls, product detailing/comparisons, in-hospital training, and special events.
