Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality patient care on the PCU unit, including critical thinking and EKG rhythm interpretation.
• Administer and monitor cardiac drips, insulin drips, and heparin drips following hospital protocols.
• Perform procedures such as peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertions, and NG/dobhoff tube insertions.
• Conduct hourly rounding on day shifts and every 2 hours at night, utilizing AIDET communication and keeping up with communication boards.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes, including stroke and post-cardiac cath care.
• Float as needed between PCU units or to med-surg floors in accordance with hospital policy.
