About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1.5 years of neuro ICU experience required License: Active nursing license Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Neuro experience is essential. Experience with EVD insertions, neuro post-op care, A-line insertions, intubation, central line insertion, CRRT, post-TPA care, and thrombectomy care is required. Capability to manage care for diverse neurologic disorders such as traumatic brain injury and status epilepticus. Description: This position involves providing high-quality nursing care in a neuro intensive care setting. The nurse will be responsible for managing patients with complex neurological conditions. Ratios will be 1:2. Travelers may be floated to other ICUs, PCUs, ED, or PACU as needed. Daily census in the unit is approximately 16 patients. Interdisciplinary support will include physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy. Weekend requirements vary based on unit needs. Pre-approved time off may be requested. Completion of compliance document requirements is essential prior to starting. A drug screen is required within 30 days. All travelers must adhere to the facility's guidelines and protocols. Personal transportation is necessary. The facility has strict requirements for RTO requests. No local submissions within a 100-mile radius are permitted. Emergent scenarios and unique patient needs may dictate nursing actions during shifts. The environment is one of teaching and maintaining high patient care standards.
