Senior Payroll Specialist

We are hiring for a Senior Payroll Specialist position based in Bala-Cynwyd, Pennsylvania. Work Schedule Payroll processed Monday or Tuesday (must be in office those days), expected 4 days in office weekly and 1 day remote About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Specialist with a strong background in union payroll processing to join our team. This mid-to-senior level position involves managing payroll for multiple companies, vessels (ships), and unions within the maritime/shipping industry (industry experience a plus, but not required). You will work closely with accounting and benefits administration to ensure accurate and compliant payroll and benefit processing. Key Responsibilities Payroll Processing Run bi-weekly payroll for multiple companies, 11-12 vessels, and 2 unions Enter deductions including 401(k), union dues, and child support Union & Benefits Administration Calculate and send union benefit payments Collaborate with Accounts Payable for monthly payments Handle pension and 401(k) compliance reports Complete annual non-discrimination testing Employee Management Tasks Manage supplemental benefits, vacation travel pay, expense reimbursements, and employee advances Respond to employment verification requests Process bonuses and union grievance payments Compliance & Reporting Ensure compliance with U.S. payroll and tax laws Improve payroll policies and procedures Handle special financial projects as needed Required Qualifications 3–5 years of payroll experience with strong union payroll processing skills (critical) At least 3 years in benefits administration, including 401(k), pension, compliance, and non-discrimination testing Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP Solid knowledge of U.S. payroll and tax laws Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred but not mandatory #J-18808-Ljbffr Qualified Recruiter
