Job Description

Surgical ICU Stepdown RN- 36 Hour Nights, 7 P- 7A, With Every Other Weekend This 38-bed unit provides care for intermediate level surgical patients. Expected patient population consists of post-operative patients requiring intermediate level care, either directly transferred from the PACU or in the SICU. Specialties include cardiothoracic surgery, vascular surgery, neurosurgery, trauma and transplant patients. IMCU core competencies CAPD Post-operative care of cardiac surgery patients (post ICU) Care of the ventilated patient Care of the thoracic surgery patients Hemodynamic monitoring: arterial lines Stable doses of dopamine, neo-synephrine, diltiazem, dobutamine, nitroglycerine (non-titrated) Care of post-operative cervical spine and traumatic brain injured patients (post SICU) Post-SICU care of esophagectomy, laryngectomy, or major oromaxillary surgery Post-operative renal transplant Continuous renal replacement therapies Care of high-risk OB patients
