Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly clients to identify their specific needs and tailor therapeutic interventions accordingly.

• Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions focused on addressing emotional challenges related to aging, including loss, depression, anxiety, and life transitions.

• Collaborate with families and community resources to educate them on coping strategies that enhance the emotional quality of life for senior individuals.

• Provide grief and loss counseling services, offering support to clients and their families as they navigate end-of-life issues and other significant losses.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on elderly clients who are dealing with a variety of mental health issues linked to aging, such as loneliness, bereavement, and the emotional impact of life changes. The counselor will work closely with seniors, their families, and support staff to create an integrated approach that promotes improved mental health outcomes.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or a closely related field.

• Completion of a full-time clinical internship in a mental health or community health setting.

• License eligible by the State of New York, with the ability to secure LMHC licensure.

Compensation and Benefits\n
