Patient Access Representative

Pride Health is hiring a Patient Access Representative to support our client's healthcare facility in Worcester, MA. Schedule: Full-Time, 40 Hours Weekly, 7:00 AM 3:30 PM, Weekend and Holiday Rotation Required. Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday Week 2: Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday Location: Worcester, MA 01605 Float / Coverage Area: Job Type: Local contract Contract Length: 13 weeks of Contract with potential for Temp-to-Perm conversion based on performance, attendance, and business need. Pay Range: $21.00 to $23.00/hour* Mileage Reimbursement Rate (if applicable): N/A *Pay offered is based on experience, expertise, credentialing, and education.

Duties:

• Register patients and accurately enter demographic and insurance information.
• Verify insurance eligibility, referrals, authorizations, and coverage.
• Obtain HIPAA consent and other required patient signatures.
• Handle ED, Labor & Delivery, Surgical Day, admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Schedule Radiology, Laboratory, and ancillary services.
• Collect copays, deductibles, coinsurance, balances, and self-pay amounts.
• Resolve insurance discrepancies and coordinate with financial counseling.
• Maintain patient records, work queues, logs, and departmental documentation.
• Perform clerical duties such as filing, faxing, typing, records retrieval, and mailing.
• Follow hospital policies, quality standards, and safety requirements.

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

• Certification(s): N/A
• Years of experience:
  • Minimum 1 year of healthcare patient access, registration, admissions, scheduling, insurance verification, medical front office, or healthcare customer service experience.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume healthcare environment.
• Skills/Specialties/Technology:
  • Business casual or scrubs required; no Crocs/open-toed shoes.
  • Weekend and holiday rotation is mandatory.
  • Parking fee applies.
  • English proficiency required.
  • Epic, Cerner, Meditech, or similar hospital system experience preferred.
  • Bilingual skills and an associate degree/healthcare certificate are a plus.
  • Strong data entry, computer, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work with multiple Windows-based applications.
  • Knowledge of patient demographics, insurance information, and medical terminology.
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work onsite.
