Assistant Professor of Kinesiology

Assistant Professor, Kinesiology – St. Edward’s University St. Edward's University, an independent Catholic institution and Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), invites applications for a full‑time, 9‑month, tenure‑track position in the Department of Kinesiology, beginning August 2026. Essential responsibilities: The successful candidate will be expected to teach the following courses and may also teach additional anatomy/physiology courses: Exercise Physiology Strength Training & Conditioning Musculoskeletal Anatomy & Biomechanics Exercise Testing & Prescription Optional: Anatomy & Physiology I & II Classes are delivered face‑to‑face. The teaching load is 12 credits per semester. Additional duties include advising undergraduate students, meeting service requirements, promoting the kinesiology major, maintaining an active program of research, developing new courses and curriculum, and fostering social responsibility in line with the university’s mission. Qualifications: Applicants must possess an earned doctorate in exercise physiology, exercise science, kinesiology, or a related area and should meet the following: Demonstrated experience in college‑level teaching and scholarship. Excellent written and spoken English communication skills. Strong commitment to and potential for excellence in teaching and training undergraduates from diverse backgrounds. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; demonstrated ability to work collaboratively. Successful completion of an employment and/or criminal history background check.
