Director, Clinical Development (MD)

Gilead Sciences seeks a physician director to lead clinical development strategy and execution for assigned therapeutic molecules. The role involves scientific guidance across cross-functional teams, protocol design, regulatory submissions, and medical monitoring throughout the drug development lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Develop or provide input on Target Product Profiles and Clinical Development Plans for assigned molecules
- Lead clinical trial protocol design, study reports, and health authority communications
- Provide medical monitoring for clinical trials including safety surveillance and eligibility assessment
- Coordinate preparation and review of regulatory documents, investigator brochures, and development plans
- Present scientific findings at conferences and investigator meetings
Requirements
- MD or equivalent degree with 4+ years clinical or drug development experience in biopharma, healthcare, or academia
- Experience in Phase 1 and Phase 2 clinical trial design and execution
- Board certification in rheumatology, dermatology, gastroenterology, or allergy and immunology preferred
- Prior experience leading cross-functional project teams in clinical research or development
- Demonstrated expertise in protocol design, regulatory filings, medical monitoring, and clinical publications
- Strong matrix management and project delivery capabilities
- Fast learner with flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities
Compensation: $261,375–$338,250 base
