Middle School Volleyball Coach

Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Middle School Volleyball Coach for the upcoming season at Viper Elementary. This seasonal position involves mentoring and developing young athletes in the fundamentals of volleyball while fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love for the game. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of volleyball techniques and strategies, as well as the ability to inspire and motivate middle school students. Responsibilities Plan and conduct daily practice sessions that focus on skill development, teamwork, and game strategies. Develop and implement a competitive game schedule, coordinating with other schools and officials. Teach the rules and fundamentals of volleyball to players of varying skill levels. Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that encourages participation and personal growth. Monitor and evaluate individual and team performance, providing constructive feedback to players. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding team activities, schedules, and player progress. Ensure the safety and well-being of all players during practices and games. Assist in the organization of team events, including fundraisers and community outreach initiatives. Collaborate with school administration and athletic staff to promote the volleyball program. Uphold and model the values of sportsmanship and respect for all participants. Requirements Previous coaching experience in volleyball, preferably at the middle school level or equivalent. Strong knowledge of volleyball techniques, rules, and strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students, parents, and staff. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends for practices and games. Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to the start of the season). A commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.
