About Muir Way Muir Way is a San Diego-based outdoor brand on a mission to help people bring the places they love home. Since 2013, we've designed archival topographic maps, 3D raised relief maps, vintage shaded relief maps, and custom map wall art for hikers, travelers, and anyone who's ever wanted a place on their wall instead of just in their photos. Our maps are sold online and displayed as decor in REI stores, and we partner with the Sierra Club and Leave No Trace to support the outdoor spaces that inspire our work. Maps Worth Hanging. Places Worth Remembering. The Role We're looking for a part-time Social Media Manager / Email Newsletter Designer to help how Muir Way shows up in people's feeds and inboxes. This is a hybrid role split between our San Diego team and remote work, ideal for someone who can both plan a content calendar and execute it — from an Instagram grid post to a polished Klaviyo email — with minimal hand-holding. You'll work closely with our small marketing and product team to translate what's happening at Muir Way (new map releases, seasonal campaigns, brand storytelling, customer moments) into content that looks great and drives engagement across social and email. What You'll Do Plan and maintain a monthly social content calendar across Instagram, TikTok, and other relevant platforms, organized around consistent content pillars Design, write, and schedule organic social posts, Stories, and Reels that reflect Muir Way's brand voice and visual identity Execute the design of email newsletters and campaigns in Klaviyo, from product launches and seasonal promotions to evergreen and educational content Coordinate social and email content around product drops, holidays, and campaigns (we've run campaigns for geological map launches, Father's Day, and July 4th, among others) Create photo/video content, and work with existing brand assets and templates to keep a consistent look across channels Keep an eye on what's working (and what isn't) and bring ideas back to the team What We're Looking For Experience managing social media accounts and designing email campaigns for a brand or small business (agency or in-house both welcome) Hands-on design skills — comfortable in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or similar Strong eye for visual consistency and brand voice; you can look at a post or email and tell if it "feels like" the brand Solid writing skills — captions and subject lines that sound like a person, not a marketing bot Comfortable working independently and managing a content calendar with light oversight Bonus: interest in the outdoors, hiking, national parks, or cartography (you don't need to be an expert, but you should get why people love this stuff) Details Location: Hybrid — based in or near San Diego, CA, with regular in-person time and flexibility to work remotely Schedule: Part-time, roughly 25-30 hours per week (flexible/set schedule — to be discussed) Pay: $21/hour Pay: From $21.00 per hour Expected hours: 25.0 – 30.0 per week Benefits: Flexible schedule Work Location: Hybrid remote in San Diego, CA 92113 #J-18808-Ljbffr Muir Way
